Yogi came to us at a very difficult point in our lives. We had recently lost two once in a lifetime dogs due to old age and illness, and he helped heal our wounded hearts. He is our constant companion and enjoys nothing more than traveling with us. To me, he epitomizes what a great German Shepherd is, and I am forever grateful he came into our lives when he did.

Yogi is an incredibly large dog with heavy bone, weighing 115lbs. Despite his huge size he is an extremely athletic and agile dog. Yogi has medium prey drive, huge full grips, and exceptional hunt drive. He will search himself to the point of exhaustion, and still try to keep going. If Yogi can find the weak link, he’ll beg someone to throw a ball or stick for him nonstop. His temperament is outstanding, and he is one of the most calm, confident dogs I have ever owned. He is our official puppy raiser, and has the patience of a saint with puppies. Yogi wants nothing more than to please his family, and would be happy to work for praise alone. He is one of those dogs that everyone meets and falls in love with.

Yogi has trained for search and rescue (HRD detection) and sport work. He is currently working towards his AKC Obedience, Rally, and FastCAT titles, with qualifying legs towards his next level titles in all of those sports. We have recently started dock diving training with hopes to compete, and are working towards trialing for bite work sports this year.

Yogi is available at stud to approved females.
